Primary sources
CNN.com provided us with President Bush's speech after the events on September 11, 2001. This helped us better understand the thoughts of America and the effects the event had on our country. His speech put doubts about America's security in the minds of even the most protected men.
Kaci Balfany was another primary source we used in gathering our information. We used her trip to Ground Zero and her experience there to gain a better understanding of the memorial and what an amazing experience it was. It gave us a more personal feel of the memorial than just reading about it on the Internet.
On Kearneyhub.com we found a article about a memorial in our own home town created by a student in our class, Robbie Pottoff. "Fragment of World Trade Center Unveiled Sunday at Firefighters' Museum" -by Kim Schmidt. Also from this webpage we found another Kearney citizen Lisa Schluntz who is the director of the museum.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDW0wL2trpw This video provided great insight into the effects of first reponders and their intial reations. It helped us better understand the effect that day still has on people today. The video was created by CBS news.
http://www.911memorial.org/sites/all/files/Authorization%20for%20use%20of%20military%20force.pdf This website provided us, with great detail, on when the war with Al-Qaeda started. It also gave us useful information about the process that Congress and the President had to go through.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZLtEYd9kOE This video offered us a huge explantation of why the economy was so bad after 9/11 and a few reasons as to why it always will be. This video is from Emory Univeristy and led us to more helpful research.
http://nation.foxnews.com/911/2011/09/11/president-george-w-bushs-flight-93-memorial-dedication-speech This website provided us with President Bush's speech about the Flight 93 memorial and gave us even more info about the events that occured on 9/11. This helped us further understand how much this day meant to President Bush and what he was willing to do for the people that fell that day in history.
http://nymag.com/nymetro/news/sept11/2003/n_9189/ This gave us Pasquale Buzzelli's story, from him, about how he survived and how not everyone was a part of the tradegy on that day. Buzzelli's story was a huge inspiration to us and it led us to look up more information on the memorials made for the men and women not as fortunate.
